Account Creation
CargoScope accounts can be created with a work email address and password, or by using supported OAuth providers such as Google and Apple. Your email address is used as your account username.
How to Delete Your Account
You can request permanent account deletion directly from the CargoScope app:
- Sign in to CargoScope with the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm the warning prompts. On web, type DELETE when asked.
If you cannot sign in, email support@cargoscope.io from the email address on your CargoScope account with the subject "Account deletion request". Include your account email and workspace name so we can verify the request.
If your workspace has other members and you are the owner, you may need to transfer ownership or remove other members before deletion can be completed.
Data Deleted With Your Account
When your account is deleted, CargoScope deletes your profile, authentication account, workspace membership, and personal account details. If you solely own a workspace, CargoScope also deletes that workspace and its associated shipment records, shipment events, webhook logs, invites, audit logs, and billing event records.
If you are a member of a workspace that remains active for other users, CargoScope removes your membership and profile, but shared workspace shipment data may remain available to the remaining workspace users.
Data We May Keep
CargoScope may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, tax, accounting, payment processing, or backup integrity. Retained records are kept only for the period needed for those purposes, generally no longer than 90 days for operational backups unless a longer legal, billing, or security retention period applies.
Request Partial Data Deletion
You can request deletion of selected data without deleting your account by emailing support@cargoscope.io with the subject "Data deletion request". Please describe the shipment, workspace, or account data you want removed. We will verify your identity and confirm what can be deleted without affecting records needed by your workspace, billing provider, or legal obligations.
Encryption and Security
CargoScope encrypts user data in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We also use access controls, authenticated sessions, rate limits on sensitive actions, secure cloud infrastructure, and security headers on public web pages to help protect user and shipment data.
